Tribhangi-Sar
Tribhangi-sar
Jainology believes in the fact that mundane souls are not purified and their pleasures are quite momentary and short lived. Therefore, the wise and prudent person must clearly know and realise the distinction between soul and non-soul matters and direct all his efforts, time and energy towards the purification of soul by way of liberating it from all karmic filth or karmic impurities. Although this work 'Tribhangi-sar' is comparatively small in size yet it deals with a very elaborate subject of purification of soul. It makes a very fine reading and the three volitioned verses can be easily remembered and melodiously sung.
It contains only 71 gathas in all. The first 36 gathas of 'Tribhangi-sar' deal with the three volitions, which cause the inflow and bondage of karmas, whereas the next 20 gathas deal with the ways and means for volitions trios, which assist the aspirants in stopping and shedding off of 'karmas' in order to attain salvation.
Shri Jina Taran Taran Swami, who flourished in the later half of 15th and the first half of 16th century A.D., has composed these three volitioned verses compassionately so as to show and guide to the path of salvation to the aspirants concerned. It is quite useful to saints as well as lay men.
