Aditi Narayani (Aditi Narayani)

Dr. Aditi Narayani, alumna of St. Stephens and Delhi School of Economics, is known for her work on Social inclusion, Indic thought traditions and Sociology of Marginalized Sections. Dr. Narayani holds a doctorate from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Her work focuses on caste, gender, and social justice. As a writer, Dr. Narayani has contributed to several publications and national dailies including ‘The Indian Express’, ‘The Hindu’, and ‘Open’ magazine, The Outlook and several other online and offline media platforms. She also appears regularly on TV/digital media platforms including BBC News, DD News, Lallantop (India Today Group), Newslaundry, Mirror Now (Times Now Group) as a domain expert on socio-political issues. Her academic and public engagement reflects a deep commitment to fostering a broader conversation about Samajik Samarasta with social justice and the empowerment of marginalized groups at its centre. She has been part of the United Nations Commission on the status of Women at New York. She was Track chair at Y20 and L 20 during India’s G20 presidency. She is a Member-Nominee at Babu Jagjivan Ram Foundation, ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. She sits on the advisory panel in Central Board of Film Certification, a statutory film-certification body. She teaches Sociology at Lakshmibai College, University of Delhi.
